FAQ

How To Use Pattern Configurator

What happens when I click “Submit design for production”?

Clicking this button does not mean placing an order. A contact form will open, allowing you to send us your design and comments.
Once we receive your design, we will:
verify the layout and colours,
add a margin if you selected that option,
suggest any minor refinements.
Within 1–2 business days, we will send you an email with the final visualisation, pricing and production timeline.
You will place your order only after approving the final design.

How can I save my project configuration?

In the configurator, go to the “Tools” tab and click “Copy link to this configuration.” You can save the copied link on your device or email it to yourself. When you paste it into your browser, you will return to the same configuration with all your settings preserved.

How accurate is the configurator’s price estimate?

The price shown is an estimate and updates automatically with any change of dimensions, colours or border. The final price will be confirmed by email after we review your design and dimensioned drawing.

How are the mosaic dimensions calculated?

After you enter the wall or floor dimensions, the configurator automatically aligns the design to a 23 mm tile module with a 2 mm grout joint, ensuring that the pattern maintains its proper rhythm and proportions.

Can I add corner cutouts?

Yes. In the dimensions form, you can mark recesses in any of the four corners. The preview will instantly display the updated shape and price estimate.

What should I do if my floor has a non-standard shape?

If the shape cannot be reproduced in the configurator, simply send us a technical drawing with dimensions. We will prepare a design tailored to the non-standard floor shape.

Can I move the pattern in the preview to better align the lines?

Yes. You can move the pattern in the preview to precisely align the grid with edges, corners or the border before submitting your design.

What is a border, and do I need to use it?

A border is a decorative frame made of modules that match the pattern. It is optional — you can choose one of the available variants or leave the design without a frame.

Do I need to log in to use the configurator?

No. The configurator works without logging in. You will only need an account when placing an order or saving your project.

Mosaic Properties

What is the difference between glossy and matte finishes?

Glossy tiles are smooth and reflective, making them ideal for walls. For floors, we recommend a matte finish, which is less slippery and therefore safer for bathroom use.

What is the floor mosaic made of?

Our floor mosaics are made from through-body coloured glass. The pigment is added at the stage of preparing the glass powder, before the tiles are formed and fired. As a result, the colour runs consistently through the entire cross-section and will not wear off — even after many years of use, including in high-traffic areas.

Is floor mosaic slip-resistant?

Our standard mosaic has an anti-slip rating of Class A in accordance with DIN 51097:1992, ensuring safe barefoot use in wet interiors. For wet zones such as showers or spa areas, we recommend Class C mosaic, available on request.

Is mosaic suitable for bathrooms?

Yes. Glass mosaic is suitable for bathrooms, both on walls and floors. It is resistant to moisture, detergents and temperature changes, and does not require sealing. It also works well with underfloor heating.

Is Trufle mosaic suitable for restaurants or hotels?

Yes. Through-body coloured glass is abrasion-resistant, and its colour will not fade over time. It is a durable and aesthetic solution for commercial interiors, such as restaurants, cafés and hotels..

Is the mosaic suitable for underfloor heating?

Yes. Glass conducts heat well, and the thin layer of adhesive and grout does not create insulation. The mosaic is resistant to temperature changes and does not develop micro-cracks.

Can mosaic be used in a sauna?

Yes. Glass mosaic is resistant to high temperatures and sudden temperature changes, which makes it an excellent choice for saunas and steam rooms.

How should I care for the mosaic?

Glass is an exceptionally durable material that can be cleaned with household products as well as strong chlorine-based agents. It does not require sealing.

Sample sheet and colour set

Can I order a sample?

Yes. You can order a sample of your design for €14. If you decide to purchase the mosaic later, we will deduct the sample cost from your order.

How to Order a Sample?

In the configurator, click the “Order Sample” button. The system will automatically generate a product with an image of your 14×14-tile fragment and add it to your cart.

How long does it take to prepare a sample?

Typically 1–2 business days from the moment the order is placed.

Does the sample show the selected colours?

Yes. The sample will be prepared using exactly the colours you selected in the configurator. Please note that mosaic colours may differ from what you see on screen, depending on your display settings. That’s why we recommend ordering a sample to be sure of your final colour choice.

How can I order a colour chart?

For a colour chart, please contact us via the contact form or visit trufle.eu/kolorystyka.

Production, Packaging and Delivery

How long does the project take to complete?

We require up to 4 weeks from design approval to production. Larger projects (over several dozen square metres) may require 5–6 weeks. The exact timeline will be confirmed when placing the order.

In what form will I get the mosaic?

The mosaic is delivered in 33 × 33 cm sheets bonded from underneath with polyurethane adhesive. Each sheet is numbered and ready to be installed according to the installation plan.

How is the mosaic packaged?

The mosaic is packed in high-grammage, five-layer cardboard cartons that protect it during transport. One carton holds approx. 2 m² of mosaic weighs approximately 16 kg. Larger orders are shipped on a pallet.

What does it mean that the mosaic is made from recycled glass?

We use recycled glass for our mosaic production, such as glass recovered from greenhouse dismantling. The material is ground, mineral-coloured, then melted and formed into mosaic tiles.

Do you ship mosaics overseas?

Yes, we ship mosaics by courier to any location in Europe. Please contact us by email regarding this.

For orders outside the European Union, please contact us — we will find the appropriate shipping method and check the customs procedures for you.
